Tribal, southwestern horse painting. An original, acrylic, ACEO by Donna Ridgway. This horse is painted on 300 pound watercolor paper, using acrylic paints and inks. It has been varnished for protection.
I used to paint realistic horses. Now I paint the feelings horses create inside of me. They're such an elemental part of this earth, they have been here since beginning times, I love knowing those ancient connections are there. Horses have been companions of man for the ages. The shape of a horse is ever fascinating to me, they embody elegance and style like no other animal. The sense of freedom they evoke in humans when we watch them run is not brought on by any other animal. They're pure grace and elegance. No wonder they are my favorite subjects!
ACEO cards are collectible art cards, 2.5X3.5 inches in size. They fit into baseball card sleeves in albums, or are fun to display on tables in your home or in a windowsill on tiny easels. They can also be framed and hung on the wall for tiny accents.
All computer monitors vary in the way they display colors so you might see some variation when you recieve your card, but I try to photograph and display my work as accurately as possible. I do not accept returns.
I'm a Montana artist who's work is represented by Paris Gibson Museum in Great Falls, Mt and Equis Art Gallery in Red Hook, New York. You can see more examples of my work in both places.
